It was the beginning of 2006; we were placing a manufactured home on our property in Mohave Valley, Arizona. Dealing with the contractors associated with the home had been interesting. One contractor promised results that could not be delivered. Another did a poor rendition of what was expected. One guy actually took our money and did not show up. Needless to say, we were hesitant about building a garage, until we met Matt of Cobalt Construction.
We called Matt for a quote. We told him we would be in town over the weekend, and that we had to return to California on Sunday morning. Matt didn’t make us any promises but told us he would call us as soon as his job was finished, hoping it would be in time to meet. We had packed our truck to get back to California before the traffic and were almost on the 40 freeway, when unexpectedly Matt called us! He asked if we could pull over and wait 5 minutes for him to meet us where we were. That was unbelievable. None, and I mean none, of the contractors we experienced before made that kind of effort. That was just the beginning.
Matt did not promise us the Taj Mahal for a dollar. Nor did he promise to cut every corner to finish by Easter. He did promise us a fair price, to be completed in a timely manner, fulfilling our expectations for quality. And he delivered beyond what we expected. The structure, the paint, the lighting, the cement, and the yard all look beautiful. Matt ensured the garage itself resembles the manufactured home in looks. The paint color and outdoor lights are exact matches to the home. The cement driveway and patio are perfect, and 7 years later still have no cracks!
The yard itself is simply awesome. Many people in the neighborhood have tried to imitate what Matt did for us, but theirs just never seems to look quite right. Matt made the effort to make sure ours was just right. After our experiences with the previous contractors, we really did appreciate that.
